And just like that, we wave goodbye to April! It was a jam-packed month of Easter long weekend and Anzac Day – thank you to all our wonderful guests who visited and celebrated with us last month. We loved hosting you!

April was busy, busy, busy and May is set to be no exception. Here’s what you can expect to see at Georges this month!

Mothers Day

Toast to mum with a feast & waterfront views! This year, we curated an exclusive set menu for Mothers Day Lunch. Begin your meal with a vibrant spread of shared Greek mezze, designed to bring everyone together. Then take your pick from a range of rich, flavour-packed mains—each one a nod to traditional Greek cooking with a modern twist. To finish, enjoy a classic Greek dessert, the perfect sweet tribute to Mum.

Fava bean, spit roast lamb, snapper crudo and Kefolagravia saganaki were just some of the favourites on our menu – with each dish crafted to highlight the very best of Greek flavours. Kids menus available for the little ones, and all dietaries catered to.

We’ll see you then.

84th Anniversary of The Battle of Crete & The Greek Campaign

On Saturday May 17th the sacrifices and legacy of Australians who served in Greece, the Greek people who aided them and the many Greek Australians who have served in Australia’s Defence Forces will be honoured by a wreath-laying service at the Cenotaph. This event has occurred annually for over 50 years and will be attended by the Governor of New South Wales, representatives of NSW and federal parliaments, the Consulate General and leaders of the Greek Australian Community Organisations.

Nick Andriotakis of the Joint Committee for the Commemoration of The Battle of Creek & The Greek Campaign made the following statement:

“The history and narrative of the Australians that served in Greece is about the ongoing journey of the Greek Australian community to define its story of what it means to be Australian. The offering of Greek culture through food and entertainment were the first few steps. But its the shared stories of sacrifice, heroism and courage of Australians and the Greek people that has the strength in narrative to bring forward a potential deeper meaning and identity for current & future generations of what it means to be an Australian of Greek heritage. And, to be connected to both countries.”

Our founder Leo relocated to Australia from Greece at just 18 years old in 1964. By 1966, he was running the original Georges in Double Bay. For us, every day is steeped in proud Greek heritage – every dish, every drink, every interaction with our wonderful guests. And, Saturday May 17th is no exception.

Join us to celebrate the blending of two cultures, and to experience authentic Greek hospitality at its best.
