Greek Independence Day is a celebration of culture, connection, and tradition. At its heart is food. Simple, honest, and shared.
At Georges, we’re marking the occasion in a way that feels true to that heritage. Lamb slow-roasted on the spit, cooked over time and carved fresh throughout the day. Positioned at the front of the restaurant, it’s as much about atmosphere as it is about flavour, setting the tone from the moment you arrive.
At the centre of it all is the gyros. Freshly carved lamb, wrapped with tzatziki, tomato, onion, feta, and herbs. A staple of Greek street food, known for its balance, simplicity, and the way it brings people together.
For those passing by, takeaway gyros will be available for $18, designed to be quick, fresh, and full of flavour. For a more relaxed experience, guests dining in can enjoy a lunch special of lamb gyros, chips and a Mythos beer for $29.
Whether you’re stopping in briefly or settling in for the afternoon, the experience is designed to feel effortless and authentic.
For one day, Georges becomes a small piece of Greece on the waterfront.
Follow the aroma and join us between 12 and 4pm – Don’t miss out.
