The season may be cooling down, but Sydney’s cultural calendar is heating up — and Georges is at the centre of it all. Positioned on the edge of Darling Harbour, our waterside restaurant is the perfect base for festival nights, winter feasts, and memorable moments.
From exclusive offers and long weekend lunches to large-scale events and seasonal flavours, here’s everything happening this June — and every reason to make Georges part of your plans.
Vivid Sydney | Until June 14th
Sydney’s festival of music and creativity continues with installations lighting up the city through mid-June. Located just steps from the heart of the action, Georges is an ideal stop before or after your walk through the spectacle.
Explore our Vivid Highlights guide for the best displays near the harbour. And while the lights dazzle outside, enjoy a little indulgence inside. Book through our OpenTable link during Vivid and receive a complimentary dessert of traditional Greek sweets, handcrafted in-house using a family recipe passed down from owner Leo.
King’s Birthday Long Weekend | June 9th
A public holiday is the perfect excuse to dine well — and the King’s Birthday long weekend is the perfect opportunity. Raise a glass to the extra day off with Mediterranean menus, harbour views, and a celebratory atmosphere.
Fun fact: Prince Philip, the King’s father, was born on the Greek island of Corfu — not far from the origin of many of our recipes. A royal reason to feast, don’t you think?
Reserve your table early — long weekends book out fast.

Sydney Film Festival | June 4th-15th
One of the country’s most anticipated cultural events returns with international premieres, award-winning cinema — all within walking distance of Georges.
The State Theatre, just 15 minutes away, will host major titles including The Ballad of Wallis Island and Blue Moon. Even closer, (just 10 minutes) City Recital Hall will stage a world-first BAFTA-nominated, immersive experience like no other. Planet City: Live is a fearless look into environmental crisis. It explores a hypothetical reality where the entire global population lives in one hyper-dense city, leaving the rest of the planet to regenerate. Check out the full program & book your tickets at sff.org.au
After your screening, join us for a nightcap and Mediterranean fare just moments from the action.
Darling Harbour Fireworks | June 21st & 28th
After a short pause for Vivid, the iconic Darling Harbour fireworks return. Free to the public and lighting up the waterfront at 8:30pm on two crisp winter nights.
While the full display is best viewed from the Wharf just outside, Georges offers the perfect pre-show setting. Settle in with a cocktail, enjoy a leisurely dinner, then step out for a sparkling finish to your evening.
Book your table now and make a night of it.
Whale Watching Season
Winter marks the start of the annual whale migration. Between mid-June and mid-July, Sydney is one of the best vantage points on the east coast for spotting humpback and southern right whales. Several tour operators depart just minutes from Georges, making us the ideal place to warm up after your ocean adventure.
To mark the season, we’re offering a special Greek-style mulled wine — warming, spiced and made in-house. It’s the perfect finish to a day by the sea.
Available for a limited time only.
This June, make Georges your base for everything Sydney has to offer. From lights and film to fireworks and wildlife.
We can’t wait to welcome you.
See you then,
Yamas!
